This year marks the 14th Anniversary of the National Council on Ageing. The NCA was established in 2003 following Cabinets approval of the Belize National Policy on Older Persons. This year the council will be celebrating its anniversary during the week of February 6-10th 2017.
The anniversary activities will open with an intergenerational flash mob on Tuesday; February 7th, 2017 at the Belmopan Market Square. The flash mob will feature participation from our Senior Steps group, schools and organizations that support the council’s work. The flash mob highlights the importance of active and healthy ageing which is a key component of the council’s work. It is also an opportunity to show case the talent and vitality of older persons in a new and creative way.
On February 9th, 2017 the council along with its members will celebrate and Anniversary Review in Belize City. The Anniversary Review will highlight the successes of the council and the strides we have made in placing older persons concerns on the Belize national agenda.
