UWI principal pleased with Dominica open campus

University of the West IndiesDOMINICA:  Pro-vice Chancellor and Principal of the University of the West Indies Open Campus, Dr. Luz Longsworth, is pleased with the growth of the UWI Dominica open campus.
Prior to her current post, Dr. Longsworth served as Director of Open Campus Country Sites.
In an interview with GIS news on Tuesday, April 12th, Dr. Longsworth said she is particularly pleased with the increase in numbers at the open campus.
“I am very pleased with what the open campus in Dominica have been doing, in terms of building the student numbers, increasing the program that are available for Dominicans. I can say the campus is continuing to grow year after year.  We have seen over 70% increase in new students over the last three years in Dominica, one of the highest in the region. I am proud to say that Dominica is the second largest site in the open campus Eastern Caribbean family.”
The UWI Principal said she is elated that Dominicans are taking advantage of the opportunities for advanced education provided by the university.
Dr. Longsworth says there are plans for even further expansion of the Dominica open campus.
